Atlanta real estate for sale signs usually begin popping up out of the ground at about this time every year - for good reason. The cold weather is almost behind us and school will be out before we know it.

Although the Atlanta real estate market weathered the national real estate slowdown better than many other large metropolitan areas, you will still be selling your home in a market that will have more homes for sale than last year. Make sure your home looks great, price it correctly and hire a REALTOR to market your home well and you stand a very good chance against your competition.

The modest shift in the Atlanta real estate market now presents a more balanced market, which means, for the first time in years the playing field has leveled and buyers will find more sellers apt to entertain offers slightly below their asking price. This is good news for you if you plan to buy Atlanta real estate this year and especially if you are in the market to buy a home right now. There are many homes still on the market from last year and as more homes come on the market for the spring surge, you will find a better selection than in years past.
