Scrollbars On Short Pages
On a page that doesn't have enough content to fill the height of the viewing area, browsers don't add a scrollbar. This can be annoying because on a centered page the location of your page will move if there is a scrollbar on the page or not. The solution I have found is to use this CSS:
html {height: 100.1%; } This will add a scrollbar to your page no matter how little content you have in the page. The browser will think there is more than 100% of the page view being used. Read Full Post

Want people to READ what you spend time on WRITING?
In my technical writing class last year, my professor said our job was to write so that readers don't have to read. As crazy as it sounds, it is very true. A large part in writing for the web is whitespace. Whitespace can do a lot for an article or online page, but make sure to use whitespace and not 'huge gaps'. So what is this whitespace? I'm talking about separating your content into distinguishable sections/topics and using sub-headings, bold keywords, bulleted lists and images to increase readability.
