Hawaii Home Buyers Are the Experts?

Someone who is pursuing a career as a Real Estate Agent goes through thorough Real Estate School. They learn the lingo, the real estate laws and aspects of a real estate transaction process and types of loans and so forth. They pass and go on to take their STATE EXAM to obtain their Real Estate license. If they get that far they pass go and hang their license with a Real Estate Brokerage.
They join the National Association of Realtors®, their Local Board (ours is the Honolulu Board of Realtors®) and their State Association (Hawaii Association of Realtors®). Continuuing Education is mandatory to renew a license for however many years your State requires (our is every two years) and there are many months, years and hours put in to one real esate transaction. We pay Errors and Ommissions Insurance and hefty fees to keep up our membership, mls fees, dues for our electronic lockboxes, advertising, our taxes (in Hawaii we pay state, federal and GET- General Excise Tax) as independent contractors.
I take care of my clients from beginning to end and put many hours in a day to ensure that my client is being walked through every step of the way. I'm sure the majority of us do.
And then we always get a Home Buyer who says, "I don't need a Realtor® because there's hardly anything to do that I can't do myself". And then they add on, "Besides, I can get a better deal working directly with the seller." Uh, huh. Right. Sure. Okay.
Let me call an electrician for you when you are having a heart attack.
