Beach Cities Real Estate in Orange County CA

After just getting back from a recent trip to Greece, I soon apprecaited how beautiful the beach towns are here in Orange County, California (also known as the "OC"). Orange County has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and it's no wonder why home buyers choose Southern California for the warm weather and breathtaking vistas.

The Beach Cities Real Estate in Orange County is broken down to basically 7 beach towns all with unique characteristics. San Clemente is the most southern beach town in Orange County with world class surf beach break called "Trestles" Surfers around the country come to San Clemente to surf one of best surf breaks in California. It's no wonder that the gated communities of Cyprus Shore, Cyprus Cove, The Breakers and Cotton's Point which sit in front of Trestles surf break are home to surfers who want to live in a beach community where you can walk to the beach and surf. Other popular beaches are lost winds, rivera beach, t-street beach, san clemente pier and the Ole Hanson beach club beach.

Dana Point, the next beach town north of San Clemente features some great beaches. The famous "Beach Road" in Capistrano Beach area of Dana Point is home to multi-million dollar homes that sit right on the sand. Just north of Beach Road is Doheny Beach which is a large beach that neighbors the Dana Point Harbor. It's a great place to watch the surfers as the boats sail by. The Strand at Headlands, or also known as "The Strand" is the next beach town north of the Dana Point harbor. The Strand is Dana Point's newest beach front communities and will be home to large custom beach homes.

Monarch Beach, which is in the city limits of Dana Point is the next beach town north. Monarch Beach is home to the Ritz Carlton and St. Regis hotel and which have wonderful beaches that are carved out of the hillside. Directly below the Ritz Carlton is Salt Creek Beach which is a favorite to local surfers and area residents alike.

The next beach town north of Monarch Beach is Laguna Beach. Laguna Beach has a long history of being a popular destination for those getting away on vacation.The real estate here is reflected in it's desirability, typically double the prices of homes in the San Clemente and Dana Point. The great thing about Laguna Beach is the homes have some of the most unique architecture with stunning contemporary homes to large Mediterranean estates. You'll also find the cute beach cottages and historical Spanish colonial homes here as well.

The next beach town is Newport Coast and Crystal Cove. Here you will find some of the most expensive real estate for sale. Crystal Cove is a newer community where custom homes are still being built Homes range in Spanish, Tuscan, Provence & Northern Italian architectural styles. These large custom homes have expanisve views of the Newport Harbor, Pier and entire coastline heading up to Pacific Palisades. Newport Coast is a city with many exclusive gated communities with home prices ranging up all the way up to $20 million dollars and up. If you are looking for a well established neighborhood with the finest quality craftmanship and location then Newport Coast is your place.

Moving north is Newport Beach. Newport Beach is considered the "Beverly Hills" of Orange County and is home to the most expensive real estate here in Orange County with a home recently on the market for $75 million. There are some great areas in Newport Beach like Corona Del Mar which features quaint shops lined up one after another and beach homes that have some of the best curb appeal. If you like to surf then "The Wedge" in Corona del mar is a place to be when the waves get big. One can't talk about Newport Beach Real Estate without mentioning areas like "Lido" & "Balboa Island," where you'll find the most expensive real estate for sale. Boating is another popular past time here In Newport Beach and the Newport Harbor is a great place to visit.

Moving north of Newport Beach is Huntington Beach. Huntington Beach is also commonly referred to as "surf city" for it's annual surf competition at the Huntington beach pier. The area is known for it's very large sandy beaches and dog beaches. The real estate in Huntington Beach is very diverse from beach close gated communities to smaller single family home neighborhoods in the central part of Huntington Beach area.
