Writing For The Web

Writing for the web can be a tricky proposition. How to best combine the necessary information with search engine friendly tactics? Well, there is a few ways that one can go about this.
1. Building authority & symmetry.
This is likely the most important aspect of web writing. Building your site as an authority on whatever the given topic is, is without equal in terms of importance. Showing that your site is authoritative earns the site respect from both the industry and the search engines. If the engines see your site as a authority, your rankings will reap the benefits.
2.Original Content.
What can I say about original content? It's about the most important thing you can have on a website. Original content sets a site apart from the vast majority of sub-par sites on the web. No matter how small your market or niche, original, informative, well-written content will do wonders for any site. In my opinion there is really no site too small or too large to spend a good amount of time considering what the written aspect of the site is going to say. Remember, the more people know about what you are selling or advertising, the more likely they are to purchase or inquire.
3. SEO
Well this is the golden goose so to speak. The granddaddy of them all. How to get ranked for your keywords. Funnily enough, the preceding two categories are a huge part of SEO. Both of those are heavily considered by the search engines. So what's left? Proper use of meta tags & descriptions and page titles is a great place to start. Remember what I said about page symmetry? This is one place where that symmetry comes together.
Well, that's all for now. I'll likely be back when the inspiration takes me :P
