Goodbye, E&N Railway Station

On August 26th, early in the morning... Just one block from REW Headquarters, one of the coolest, oldest buildings in Nanaimo was completely gutted by a fire. Today at lunch, SEO Dave and I drove by what was left of Nanaimo's E&N Railway Station only to see the entire left side of the roof completely caved in and charred.
Just a few months ago I lived DIRECTLY across the street from that building and often hung out there while I waited for my girlfriend to get off her bus from school. I always thought the station was shut down and there was someone living in it, as we always heard music coming from the inside late at night... but according to recent articles released about the burning, the station was still operational.
According to a man who lives across the street from the 87 year old building, he awoke at 4:50 in the morning to see smoke filling the skies. In the article located in my related links below, the owners of the building weren't sure if it was actually insured.
Unfortunately, the cause of the fire is still unknown. I suspect arson because of the area of town it's in, there are a lot of shady dealings around there. I know. I lived across the street for a year. It's too bad because chances are, the building will be torn down.
RIP. E&N Railway Station!
(Be sure to check out the links below. They have a couple pictures of the building on fire and after it was put out)
