The Forsyth County School system had the state of Georgia's highest average score on the ACT for 2009.  South Forsyth High School had the top average out of all 189 school districts in GA.  South Forsyth High School score = 24.2, which helped to place SFHS in the 8th place amount Georgia's 400 high schools. 

Forsyth Central High School scored 22.2, North Forsyth High School scored 22.3 and West Forsyth High School scored 22.5.

Comparing ACT to SAT is not exact, however; scoring a 24 on the ACT is equivalent to scoring a 1650 on the SAT.

Approximate 40% of Georgia's 2009 graduating seniors took the ACT.

Just last week, Forbes.com announced their list of 2009 Best Cities for Singles.  Atlanta ranked #6 in the rankings!  Forbes gathers their data by ranking 40 of the largest continental US metro cities with stats from seven categories:  coolness, cost of living alone, culture, job growth, online dating participation, nightlife and the ratio of singles to the entire population.  Forbes then adds up the points awarded each city per category to get their final rankings.

In my era, (yeah, I sound old already… so what??), people actually picked up the phone and talked. It was not really ok for girls to call boys but when they did, you could talk for hours. Long after we should have been in bed, we’d be talking on the phone. I remember hiding the new cordless phone under my pillow as I was tucked in and then pulling it out to talk to my high school boyfriend. Ok, that wasn’t right, but the point is, we talked!

I have three teenage boys and I can tell you, they don’t talk on the phone much at all but they type better than I do! They don’t even have to teach typing class anymore. I think these kids can out-type us before they are 10!

DEADLINE:  November 30, 2009

In order to take advantage of the $8,000 federal tax credit, you must have closed on your home purchase by no later than November 30, 2009.  This tax credit is applicable to "first time home buyers" which means someone that is purchasing a primary residence for the very first time OR someone who has not owned a primary residence for the past 3 year period prior to purchase. 

I was recently working with a family who has been renting our their primary residence for appx 3 years.  I suggested that they contact their CPA to see if they would be considered as a "first time home buyer."  They were just shy about a month, so we waited until that 3 year time frame hit and then went out home shopping.  What a GREAT idea!  The Sherry…
