The housed stone and bone tools of the Columbia Basin region inform modern day scholars and journalists about the Indians who lived along the Columbia, Snake, Palouse and Walla Walla rivers. Many of the artifacts are dated from 200 to 12,000 years.

Many of the showcases provide interpretative displays that enable first hand observation of how tools and other implements were sought, made and used. There are also in-depth explanations of the meaning of these artifacts in relation to the socio-cultural values of the Native Americans. As well as explanations as to how the implements reflect the individuality of their maker.
