The Land of Kennewick ~ A Beautiful Place to Live ~ There is an abundance of beauty that surrounds the land of Kennewick Wa, as it is with the entire area of Tri city WA. Kennewick is situated along the Hanford Reach, the last remaining free flowing stretch of the Columbia River. Because of its unspoiled landscape, the Hanford Reach is home to a spectacular and diverse population of wildlife and vegetation that are rarely seen in other places in such abundant numbers.
 
Among the many features of the Columbia Basin of the Hanford Reach is the characteristic landscape of savanna like, dry plains we commonly refer to as the shrub steppes. The shrub steppes feature flat, parched lands that go on endlessly for miles, dotted only by shrubs and bushes. 

The shrub steppe landscape of Kennewick, Tri city WA is responsible for its relatively warm weather and milder winters compared to other places in the greater Washington State. This landscape, while seemingly barren and austere, is actually home to many birds and other terrestrial animals. Do not be fooled by the stark facade, for the shrub steppes of Kennewick is home to a sundry of flora and fauna that draws visitors from all across the country.
