Kennewick Rumble On The River

The Kennewick Rumble on the River is an annual event held in July on the Columbia River. Spectators can enjoy watching Water Follies contestants compete for the Atomic Cup for Unlimited Hydroplanes; the Robert Young Apartments Aerial Demonstrations; and the HAPO Community Credit Union Thunder Cup for Unlimited Light Hydroplanes.

The Kennewick Washington area is an integral part of the Tri City Water Follies Association. It is a not for profit organization that was established in 1965 and continues to be managed by a volunteer board of directors. The Rumble on the River is one of the largest weekend events held for the communities in the Tri City area.

2007 will be the 42nd anniversary of the Tri City Atomic Cup to be presented by the Tri-City Water…

Washington home prices continue to rise in Washington despite national trends

OLYMPIA - Home prices continue to rise in Washington despite the news elsewhere of increased inventories, a slowing market and falling prices, according to the Washington Association of REALTORS®. Record-high prices will continue to rise here, experts say, putting homes further out of reach for many middle-income families. 

“Our state population is growing but the supply of middle-income homes isn’t keeping up,” said Steve Francks, Washington Realtors Chief Executive Officer. “The fact is we don’t have enough homes that are affordable for middle class families— and they represent the majority of would-be homeowners.”

Learn About Recycling In Richland

Visitor Bureau Annual Meeting

Members of the Tri City Rivershore Enhancement Council (TREC) were honored as the 2006 Tourism Champions of the Year at the Tri City Visitor & Convention Bureau Annual Meeting last month. In making the announcement, Bureau President & CEO, Kris Watkins stated, ~Levees have been lowered. Trails have been extended. Interpretive overlooks and viewpoints were created. Signage was added. Separated, paved bike paths were built. Parks and green spaces have been enhanced. And new docks and marinas welcome visitors from around the world. All because of TREC’s efforts to establish our community as a waterfront destination, and as a desirable location for business expansion.~
