Tri City Washington ~ Along the River Path

Serving as a port of call to many barges, the Tri Cities of Pasco, Richland and Kennewick has access to trade from other places through its river superhighway. The damming of the Columbia River has also made it possible for the barren deserts of the Tri Cities Wa to be irrigated, coupled with a cooperative climate, to produce bountiful crops that sustain Tri City and its surrounding areas.

The wonderful irony of Tri City is that while it has traditionally been a farming land, the place is also host to modern industries such as power generation and fuel refinery. The dams that were built along the river have created new sources of livelihood for Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland that even future generations of residents will continue to benefit from.

Already, the Tri City government is laying the groundwork for more diversity in terms of industries, even as they collectively nurture the traditional agricultural industries that have been faithfully providing for the people since the early days of the Tri Cities.

The general progress of Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland is both by deliberate design and fortunate fate. As with the history of other places, Tri City Washington has had its share of setbacks. However, what sets any place apart is the resolve of the people to overcome and triumph over their circumstance. The abundant land of the Columbia Basin has indeed been a blessing for Tri City, such was their fortunate fate. But what the residents chose to do with such blessings is by deliberate design.
