Tri-Cities Wa Salvation Army | Annual Civic Dinner

The Tri-Cities Washington Salvation Army’s Annual Civic Dinner will have as its theme, “Joining Forces.” In appreciation of the outstanding volunteer service to local organization and the community, The Salvation Army wishes to give recognition to selected groups that have partnered with them in service this past year.  They include: the Kiwanis Clubs of the Tri-Cities, Columbia Center Mall,  Dean Dental, Bank of the West, Les Schwab Tire Centers, Liberty Christian School, and KNDU-TV.  Recognition will also be given for Employee, Volunteer, and Advisory Board Members of the Year.

The guest speaker for the civic gathering will Major John Chamness, Inland Northwest Regional Coordinator for The Salvation Army.   The Major is currently giving leadership to the construction and development of a $40 million community center in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho that is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2009.  The majority of funds have been provided through a portion of a $1.5 billion will given to The Salvation Army by Joan Kroc, the late hieress of the McDonald’s estate, to be used for specialized community centers in selected communities across the United States.
