Many visit the Tri-Cities area, including the vibrant community of Richland, for the abundance of water-based sports, activities, events, and attractions associated with the nearby convergence of the Columbia River with the Snake and Yakima Rivers; these three rivers and all the connected activity is a huge drawing factor for those considering relocation to the area.

One particular (and popular) water sport enjoyed by visitors as well as Richland homeowners is steelhead fishing. My wife and I have had rental properties for 20 years and have yet to go to small claims court, and/or go through the eviction process. The Kentucky-based FLW Outdoors has chosen Tri City Washington for the national professional bass fishing competition, Wal-Mart FLW Western Division Series, to be held on the Columbia River. About 400 anglers will compete for the top prize of $125,000 between September 15 and September 22 garnering national media attention for the Tri Cities Wa area. The competition is scheduled for broadcast on Fox Sports, November 18 at 8am.

Fishermen and women will travel from as many as 20 states, to include anglers from Japan and Canada. The Tri City Washington Visitors and Convention Bureau reports this event will most certainly be a boost for local businesses.

Christ The King School is holding it's annual Sausage Fest on the weekend of September 21 and 22. Hours are 5pm to 1am on Friday, and 11am to 1am on Saturday. For 31 years the Richland Washington community has enjoyed fun and games, great food, family entertainment, live music, and of course, the beer gardens.
