Tri City Washington Liberty Christian Boys Basketball Reach 1B Wa State Semifinals

YAKIMA -- Drew Hegarty had a few people to thank for a career-high 26 points in the Liberty Christian boys' 61-44 win over Almira/Coulee-Hartline at the 1B state tournament Thursday at the SunDome.

Ben Price, for one, who drew some heavy defensive pressure from ACH defenders after scoring 21 points in Wednesday's first-round win over Taholah.

Hegarty's teammates also get much of the credit for getting the ball to him in open space.

But the Patriots, who will advance to their first-ever state semifinal at 5:30 p.m. today against Tulalip Heritage, were more than happy to give props to the senior guard.
