Our Kennewick Washington 7-Eleven has a national reputation of being the 7-Eleven with the most Slurpees sold in the United States. With this recognition, Coco Cola has chosen the Kennewick 7-Eleven as the only store in the United States to launch their new Full Throttle Frozen Blue Demon Slurpee energy drink. What the heck does 7-Eleven's launch of a new drink in Kennewick have to do with real estate? Well, lots.

The Kentucky-based FLW Outdoors has chosen Tri City Washington for the national professional bass fishing competition, Wal-Mart FLW Western Division Series, to be held on the Columbia River. About 400 anglers will compete for the top prize of $125,000 between September 15 and September 22 garnering national media attention for the Tri Cities Wa area. The competition is scheduled for broadcast on Fox Sports, November 18 at 8am.

Fishermen and women will travel from as many as 20 states, to include anglers from Japan and Canada. The Tri City Washington Visitors and Convention Bureau reports this event will most certainly be a boost for local businesses.

Christ The King School is holding it's annual Sausage Fest on the weekend of September 21 and 22. Hours are 5pm to 1am on Friday, and 11am to 1am on Saturday. For 31 years the Richland Washington community has enjoyed fun and games, great food, family entertainment, live music, and of course, the beer gardens. The admission is free, so come and enjoy one of the community's premiere events.

The Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership is welcoming Commissioner Wanda Briggs, Kennewick General Hospital Board President; Glen Marshall, CEO and Teresa Long, Director of Marketing on Friday, September 7th at 8 am as they discuss the future of the hospital and the financing plan for the expansion with the downtown business and property owners. This is an opportunity for the downtown businesses to hear first hand the hospital’s goals and objective with not only the new hospital, but the current downtown campus. The Partnership encourages everyone to come to this meeting and bring others to be involved in the shaping of the future of KGH.

Thanks to Tri Cities Toyota, Tri Cities Washington will have a two page plug in the next issue of Time Magazine, reports the Tri City Herald. The two pages are an advertisement won by Toyota of Tri Cities for earning the Toyota Motor Sales President's Award. The ad will picture community notables wearing local sport team apparel, and hits the newsstands August 31st.

Also in the news is Toyota Center's inking a 10-year $2.1 million deal with Toyota of Tri Cities for naming rights to the Toyota Center.

Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., would like to open public access to Rattlesnake Mountain and the Hanford Reach to bring more tourists to the Mid-Columbia.
