Wal-Mart FLW Western Division Series Bass Fishing Competition In Tri Cities...

The Kentucky-based FLW Outdoors has chosen Tri City Washington for the national professional bass fishing competition, Wal-Mart FLW Wal-Mart FLW Western Division Series Fishing Competition in Tri Cities WashingtonWestern Division Series, to be held on the Columbia River. About 400 anglers will compete for the top prize of $125,000 between September 15 and September 22 garnering national media attention for the Tri Cities Wa area. The competition is scheduled for broadcast on Fox Sports, November 18 at 8am.

Fishermen and women will travel from as many as 20 states, to include anglers from Japan and Canada. The Tri City Washington Visitors and Convention Bureau reports this event will most certainly be a boost for local businesses.

Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., would like to open public access to Rattlesnake Mountain and the Hanford Reach to bring more tourists to the Mid-Columbia. Hastings spoke to a sold-out crowd of about 240 people at the Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce's annual state of the congressional district luncheon Wednesday at the Shilo Inn in Richland.
