As Cape Coral Grows

Cape Coral
1959:
began by two land speculators who believed that the property's location on the Gulf Coast provided abundant sunshine and almost endless opportunities for waterfront living. The Rosen brothers purchased the property, platted the community and created more than 400 miles of canals. The brothers began a massive marketing campaign that resulted in the sale of nearly all of the 350,000 residential building sites, the majority to people who lived in other states.

Cape Coral 2004: The lies that came true. Massive migration to Cape Coral causes a lack of housing. Prices soar and home building begins to increase. In 2005 home building and land prices go crazy.

Cape Coral 2007: Due to overexpansion, over speculation and lack of real paying jobs, Cape Coral goes on a diet. Good for some, bad for others.

Cape Coral 2008 predation: Cape Coral is rich in foreclosures (REO), pre-foreclosure (short sale) properties. Many of the best buys a waterfront, gulf access properties. At the moment these are under priced. Smart buyers will move in a buy up the best properties.

So if you’re a home buyer or investor looking for a location on the Gulf Coast with abundant sunshine and almost endless opportunities for waterfront living, consider Cape Coral.
