This past month, MSN.com contacted me for an interview. Recognizing that I am one of the top Paradise Valley Realtors, they wanted to know more about my social media strategies. The focus of the article was how to use social media correctly during a real estate transaction, which you can read here. I explained that the most important thing for a buyer to do is limit what they say about their potential purchase or sale until it is under contract. Be very neutral in whay you say on Twitter, Fac... Read Full Post
Social media can be a valuable addition to your online presence, but it doesn’t happen all by itself. There is a lot more to using social media than just having your accounts set up; no one is interested in an account that shows no activity! There are good and bad ways to use your social media accounts; don't post just anything for the sake of posting! We’ve all seen businesses that use their Facebook pages or Twitter feeds as spam factories; this type of usage often results in your follo... Read Full Post
I was recently turned on to Yale University's vast archive of images of which Yale has placed into the public domain. From the Yale Daily Bulletin: "The goal of the new policy is to make high quality digital images of Yale's vast cultural heritage collections in the public domain openly and freely available." And, "Scholars, artists and other individuals around the world will enjoy free access to online images of millions of objects housed in Yale's museums, archives, and libraries thanks to ... How to Come Across as a Quality Real Estate Blog As both part of my job and recreational time, I read a lot of blogs. There are a few reasons why I choose to not return to a new blog that I find: lack of readability, lack of interest or entertainment, and lack of regular updates are the most ... Read Full Post

I regularly talk to a real estate agents who publish their own blogs. Sometimes I will hear someone say: “Why should I pay for content when I can just copy stories from online news sources or other newsletters that people send me? Why should I pay for something that’s free?” When I point out that this is actually stealing content I usually get no response. People who do this either don’t realize they are stealing other people’s writing, or they prefer not to think about it. But let... Read Full Post
By Mike Andruff - VancouverPropertyFinder.com During and after the 2010 Winter Olympics the BC Government had a tourism advertising campaign featuring the best scenes of British Columbia. The catch phrase was, "You just gotta be here", implying that if you weren't here, you were really missing something. I suggest that same implication may be stated for those involved in Real Estate Webmaster's websites. Attending last year's summit left me totally satisfied with the experience gained. Those ... Has anyone seen this? ActiveRain now allows a member to post to an outside blog with a unique url. I helped Colleen set up her own blog using her name. Coleen Lane (yup, her blog is the best ever, so says the unbiased husband!). When we went looking for a domain for her, naturally we started with her name. I was incredulous to find that colleenlane.com was not taken, especially since a search in Google renders 2,240,000 results. Fortunately, her name (and our site) is on the top of that list!... Upon reaching this milestone here on REW blogs, I thought it would be good opportunity to point out the positives it has afforded me and my company by giving some kudos to everyone involved in making our first 100 posts here so successful. Of course, I have to begin with Morgan and the folks at REW for providing this great platform. There is no doubt that it is a wonderful tool for helping all of its users to spread tons of great stuff about the real estate and mortgage industries, but it is ... Read Full Post
Mayhill Fowler went form obscurity to the national stage and possibly changed the course of the presidential election. Fowler, a 61 year old self proclaimed journalistic blogger, recorded Obama's now famous Bittergate speech, blogged about it, and the rest is history. To everyone's surprise, Fowler received more attention for her piece than possibly imagined. You can read about Mayhill Fowler and her Bittergate blogging here. Goes to show what blogging can accomplish when posting information ... Read Full Post
