This past month, MSN.com contacted me for an interview. Recognizing that I am one of the top Paradise Valley Realtors, they wanted to know more about my social media strategies. The focus of the article was how to use social media correctly during a real estate transaction, which you can read here. I explained that the most important thing for a buyer to do is limit what they say about their potential purchase or sale until it is under contract. Be very neutral in whay you say on Twitter, Fac... Read Full Post
Inman News reports that "The National Association of Realtors next month will consider revising rules governing multiple listing services in order to explicitly permit brokers or agents to display Internet Data Exchange (IDX) listings on social networking sites (FaceBook) and mobile devices." The policy change will also consider revising rules for RSS distribution of IDX listings. This recommended change is gaining some opposition by a coalition of large brokers, The Realty Alliance, a networ... Read Full Post
Here's my dirty secret, but you have to promise not to tell... This is my first blog. Maybe you're disappointed, perhaps you were hoping for something a bit juicier, but that's it. I've been working on, and with, the web for 14 years now in various roles but have never quite gotten around to writing a blog. I could fill many screens with my reasons for not blogging before but that would be too self indulgent (even for a blog). What I will share is why I'm writing one now. My company is embrac... 10 Reasons To Delete Your Facebook Account If you haven't seen this, then read Business Insider's 10 Reasons To Delete Your Facebook Account. Very interesting read. Posted a few days ago, the article cites privacy concerns, the CEO's integrity, the integrity of the platform, and other reasons to simply delete your Facebook account. I cannot see real estate agents deleteing their account anytime soon, as real estate agents are notorious at viewing Facebook as their next farm and spamming the h... Read Full Post
Anybody that thinks that you can go out there in the Social Media World, post a few notes, add a few friends, upload a few photos, comment on a few peoples wall, and then "UNFRIEND SOMEONE" and they find out, they are not gonna take it too lightly. I have been involved in Social Media for a few years now and feel I have a pretty good handle on things. I don't take anything to heart, you unfriend me, no problem, I just do it back, nuff said. But a few of my friends, who do not completely under... Read Full Post

In my morning rounds of visiting blogs and procrastinating things I'm supposed to be doing in the guise of further educating myself, I stumbled across this Facebook video. I'm not the conspiracy theory type, but I wonder just how much privacy we'll have left, especially with the advent of cloud computing. Enjoy this video... Really no surprise to me, although Myspace is a very good social network, it tends to lean toward that of the younger generation...especially those that cannot buy homes at the moment. I know that some of you out there have Myspace pages and will say that you have business generated through the site, but I believe that Facebook, if you do not have a page as of yet, will yield much better results for you in your Real Estate business. I for one, working in the Tampa Real Estate field, have had ... Read Full Post
Last night while surfing the web, I came across this cool article on the lesser known features of Facebook. Here's 1 of 7. "1. Feed tweaks: Dial it up. Did you know the Friends' feed you see on the Facebook home page doesn't contain every little piece of information about what people are doing on the network? While everyone can tweak what they want published to the news feed, you too have control of what you see others doing. To adjust the feed, there's a handy set of 10 sliders that control ...
