You've seen MLS photos shot with a wide angle lens like (like the ones below). It's probably a good photo, but, not in the form it gets uploaded to in the MLS. Typically, they get mashed (technical term) in from the left and the right until the picture looks stretched tall. Very bad image from a consumer perspective to say the least and wide angle photos really do make for better shots of rooms than a regular width photo. I know, I know, this sounds absolutely absurd, but here me out for a sec'. The old way of doing real estate, the knocking on doors, meeting people face to face, saying "Hey I am your local Real Estate Expert, Buy with Me..." doesn't work anymore. I tried them all. Last week I read a post from Eric Blackwell with his new open house platform for agents in his office. I really liked the idea and set out to create something for my market for my listings. Open houses, I think, might just be the best place to use maps. I would think even better than for a general consumer searching homes.
