I've had a few clients express some confusion about this whole do-follow/no-follow issue and honestly, I've had some confusion about it too because some things have changed since the new REW site went up. So, I gleaned information from a few reliable sources and checked out the source code myself to double check and have come up with a concise list of do-follow links that the new REW site has. Since I know that I may need to refer back to these points, I thought that it was likely that someon... Read Full Post

I am just going through the motions and making an REW Blog post with all features used so that I can make some final decisions on dofollow vs nofollow links within posted content. So far herer is my list: No follow: Any links posted in the body content area of the post itself. Any comments posted by non logged in users linking to outside sites. Links to pages like printable page, contact me, rss feed that sort of thing (you don't want those spidered) Do Follow: Signature links (max 3, just li... Read Full Post
Upon reaching this milestone here on REW blogs, I thought it would be good opportunity to point out the positives it has afforded me and my company by giving some kudos to everyone involved in making our first 100 posts here so successful. Of course, I have to begin with Morgan and the folks at REW for providing this great platform. There is no doubt that it is a wonderful tool for helping all of its users to spread tons of great stuff about the real estate and mortgage industries, but it is ... Read Full Post
Here's a cool free tool for your blogging toolbox. The pixel ruler! When needing to know the width of your content area, simply paste the following code in your blog entry then post to your blog, Squidoo page, HubPage, etc: <p align="left"><img src="http://www.joelane.com/images/pixel-ruler.jpg" alt="Pixel Ruler" width="653" height="21" /></p> You'll end up with a ruler like this: I'll use the pixel ruler to determine the width of my content area to let me know how wide an i... We've seen Google come down on unnatural linking patterns and/or link spam in previous years. In the past year, we've witnessed Google come down on real estate agent's state reciprocal link pages, paid linking, directory linking, contextual linking, etc. I suspect the next wave of Google penalties will be in regards to what I will coin as selective dofollow comments in blogs and web pages. Let me explain. Selective Nofollow Comments Many blogs are selectively allowing comments to have the dof... Read Full Post
