Today the Sarasota Association of Realtors (SAR) released statistics for June 2010 sales. SAR reported; "Property sales in June 2010 in the Sarasota market once again topped the 700 mark, with 776 total sales - once again the highest of the year and the highest total since December 2005 when 784 properties were sold. Previously occupied sales of residential homes dropped 17% in Dec. 2009. This was the largest decline in US home sales in more than 40 years. Bucking the national trend the Sarasota-Bradenton area has an increase of 43% during this same time period. The real estate market in Southwest Florida continued to boom in October and the rest of the state is doing quite well too. In fact, for the first ten months of the year, the Cape Coral and Fort Myers market area has seen sales soar 96% on a year over year basis and the Bonita Springs and Naples market area was not too shabby either, up 42%.
