This past month, MSN.com contacted me for an interview. Recognizing that I am one of the top Paradise Valley Realtors, they wanted to know more about my social media strategies. The focus of the article was how to use social media correctly during a real estate transaction, which you can read here. I explained that the most important thing for a buyer to do is limit what they say about their potential purchase or sale until it is under contract. Be very neutral in whay you say on Twitter, Fac... Read Full Post
Local search can drive some really good leads, especially when it comes to real estate. Obviously, twitter is a nice way to interact with your potential clientele, but they could be absolutely anywhere in the world. Twitter has been trying to make it easier on people looking for specific tweets in certain areas, but it only goes so far. Location and tag based twitter stats are very valuable and there's more than a few websites that have realized the hole there. As a result, they try to fill i... Read Full Post
A few weeks ago, I strolled into the local pizza joint for my regular Friday night out. Normally, the place doesn't start getting busy until after 6:00, but today this quiet little pizza parlor was a hub of activity. People were standing shoulder to shoulder, holding little plastic wine glasses in one hand, and juggling cell phones and chicken wings in the other. Everyone was chatting and passing business cards back and forth. When the hostess greeted us, my first inclination was to ask, "is ... Read Full Post
Here's my dirty secret, but you have to promise not to tell... This is my first blog. Maybe you're disappointed, perhaps you were hoping for something a bit juicier, but that's it. I've been working on, and with, the web for 14 years now in various roles but have never quite gotten around to writing a blog. I could fill many screens with my reasons for not blogging before but that would be too self indulgent (even for a blog). What I will share is why I'm writing one now. My company is embrac... Everyone is on Twitter now days. Companies are using Twitter to connect with their customers, grandparents are tweeting to see what their grandkids are up to, and as a real estate agent you are sitting on a wealth of information that can take your business to the next level. If you are not familiar with Twitter I would recommend a great video put out by Common Craft explaining Twitter, http://www.commoncraft.com/twitter. Essentially Twitter is a microblogging service, that allows you to tell ... Read Full Post
Anybody that thinks that you can go out there in the Social Media World, post a few notes, add a few friends, upload a few photos, comment on a few peoples wall, and then "UNFRIEND SOMEONE" and they find out, they are not gonna take it too lightly. I have been involved in Social Media for a few years now and feel I have a pretty good handle on things. I don't take anything to heart, you unfriend me, no problem, I just do it back, nuff said. But a few of my friends, who do not completely under... Read Full Post

Twitter is taking the net by storm, in my opinion. I, like most everybody that started out with signing up for a twitter account, ended up abandoning it after a few weeks because we just "didn't get it". Well, 6 months passed and I thought I would take another look at it and BAM, I started to see the genius in it. I think the thing that confused me was the "What are you doing" question. Who really cared about what the hell I was doing, Oh yah, I am watching Ghost Hunters, or I am sitting in m... Read Full Post
