Hello real estate investors.  Today I wanted to talk a little about what I think are the best 3 investment areas in the Beaufort SC real estate market.  Before the economic downturn this area looked like it was going into development overdrive.  Now that things have slowed down a little, it is a great time to look at area that should be very profitable when the housing market and nation's economy as whole recovers.  Nothing is a sure bet but I had a very good eye for investment properties in the Charleston area over the past ten years.  I hope I haven't lost my touch and here are my top three picks for Beaufort SC.

Few places in the country offer historic, waterfront, and resort living in one area, but that's exactly what the Beaufort South Carolina real estate market offers home buyers.  Having such selection has made Beaufort one of the countries top destinations for transplants and retirees.  The toughest choise is deciding whats is best for you. 

For those who treasure days long gone by, a historic home located in the quaint downtown area might be what you are looking for.  When looking in the historic district, buyers have a choice of smaller cottages, larger antabellum homes, or graceful mansions.  It all depends on what suits their needs.  Living in historic downtown Beaufort SC, residents have walking access to shopping, restaurants, and the Henry C Chambers…

Cottage Farm, located off Ribaut Rd., is one of the most centrally located waterfront neighborhoods in all of Beaufort SC.  It is often hard to believe that a fine area like Cottage Farm in less than 3 minutes from Beaufort Memorial hospital and all of the other medical facilities.  It is also 5 minutes to downtown, 5 minutes to the Naval hospital, 5 minutes to Port Royal, and less than 10 minutes to just about everywhere else in Beaufort.

When home owners decide to put a little money back into their home, one of the biggest questions is, "Will I get my money back out of this renovation when I sell?".  No one wants to drop a load of money into a home project, only to loose all that money a few years down the road when the home is sold.

Fripp Island Resort is a 3000 acre, private beachfront resort.  Occupied by around 750 permanent residents, Fripp Island has long been one of South Carolina's favorite vacation destinations.  While less than a thousand live full time occupants on the island, it often feels like you are on your own private island.

For those who call Beaufort, SC home, you probably weren't at surprised when readers of Southern Living Magazine named Beaufort their favorite small town.  In the past decade the populating in Beaufort has doubled for one simple reason. It is a great place to live.

Surrounded by water, close to the beach, friendly people, beautiful setting, and a million other reasons are why people seem to be flocking to Beaufort.  What has especially struck me is how quick you get to meet people.  You meet someone at a meeting only to run into that same person at Publix on Lady's Island.  Because the area is small, it is inevitable that bumping into people you know is the norm.  What's even better is you never run into someone you don't want to see.  Everyone is so nice…

To everyone tired of hearing all the bad economic news that's being made even worse by the national media, I have found a very bright spot in the Beaufort SC real estate market.  Like many people on the coast of South Carolina, owning a deep water lot is a lifetime goal.  Coming from Charleston, SC, where property on the water averaged a million dollars, it seemed like that dream for me would never become a reality.  After becoming tired of all the hustle and bustle Charleston had to offer, I moved to small Beaufort SC.
