Market is picking up in Columbus GA

The market in Columbus seems to have stabilized and be improving.   We still have more inventory on the market than last year but that is starting to be reduced.   We have only had a 2% increase in prices this year but this is far from a "Real Estate Bubble".   Mortgage rates are great with the VA and FHA rates at 6.0 %.  Many feel it is going to be a strong market in 2007.   Buyers are realizing that right now they can lock in an awesome rate and that sellers are more willing to help with closing costs and make other concessions.

The average home price in our mls is $165,000. The average price of a new home would be about $240,000. That would get you a 2000 sq. ft home with average amenities.
