Masters Ski Tournament at Callaway

Callaway Gardens is only about 30 miles north of Columbus Ga.   It is one of the coolest things about living in Columbus.  We have a season pass to the gardens which includes entrance into events like this.   The family pass is only about $100 and is a bargain in my book.   Fantasy on lights at Christmas - Gardens in the Spring - Masters Ski on Memorial Day - July 4th on the beach with live beach music - Hot Air Balloon Festival in the Fall.   Memorial Day weekend is always  when the Masters is held and the top skiers in the world come to show off their slolam, trick, and wakeboard skills.

Naw, not me I've always been interested though. It's a pretty intense sport.

Ahhhh.. memories. I grew up near Lake Tobesofkee and basically spent every weekend on the lake skiing... Master's Week was always the big highlight of our year watching the best waterski pros in the world.... Callaway Gardens is also some beautiful real estate. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was Callaway Gardens not designed by the same guy who did Augusta National? Columbus is also home to Synovous Securities, one of the top companies year in and year out to work for in the nation.

Where do you live now? Synovus is a great company to work for - they just gave $1.25 million dollars to the National Infantry Museum project at the entrance to Fort Benning.

I live in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago in Barrington -- I worked for Synovous one summer while going to school at The University of Georgia. You never hear about them (except when they make the top spots for best companies to work for) but I'd consider it one of the best banking companies in the U.S. They do a lot for the communities they are in.... unlike many of the big names that I won't mention that would never donate anything unless they were getting something back.

I'm not sure, but I think they also donated a lot of money for the Air Force Museum around the time I was there... Interestingly, you probably won't even see their name anywhere in both of these museums.... Any other bank would make the museum be named "Big Bank Name" Infantry Museum.
