REALTOR Alphabet Soup

Is a real estate designation worth anything to a Realtor or their clients?     Many just call it alphabet soup.     I for one believe that national designations are worth a lot.   Why?  Because the agent took the time to become better educated in his or her field.   GRI or CRS classes are tough, expensive, and time consuming.   An agent willing to go through the classes is an agent who is dedicated.

I want my REALTOR  to be dedicated!

Additionally during this process they learn from some of the best real estate teachers in the country - so they pick up things that other agents never have the opportunity to learn.  These agents are going to be educated about contracts, legal matters, inspectons and even negotiating tactics.

I want my REALTOR  to be educated!

Another benefit to the national designations such as GRI, and CRS is the network of other agents they meet around their state and the country.   These agents are going to have a national network of friends to call on when they face a problem.

I want my REALTOR  to be networked!

Realtors with national designations have to qualify with a certain level of experience and expertise or they cannot receive the designation.  You will be surprised to see how many agents out there - don't really have much experience.

I want my REALTOR  to be experienced!

Do you have to hire a Realtor with Alphabet soup behind their name?  Of course not - but then  - it is your most valuable investment.

Just a thought!

Nice post! 2,000,000 real estate agents, 1,000,000 REALTORS, only 40,000 CRS agents. I predict in the next two years the numbers at the top will drop significantly but the number of CRS agents will stay the same or increase. What does that tell you?
