Journey of an Online Realtor
Posted Nov 26, 2008 @ 8:15 pm, Viewed by 314 Visitors, Read 343 Times.Online Realtors go through the same steps as a Rule.
1st ) We realize we need to be online
2nd) We hire a website company to build our site - we are excited about the new launch of our basic template site (we want to be online but we don't want to spend too much money).
3rd) We start reading and working on our site and add new features to enhance our site.
4th) We realize that our site will not do all we want it to - much less rank on Google.
5th) We get a much better website but maybe stay with a template like an REW standard template.
6th) Now that we have a search engine friendly website and learn some skills - our website begins to rank and we see what could be possible on the web. Now we are excited and long to have a powerful Custom Website like a Homes in Greenville site.
7th) We agonize over spending the money to build something like the kind of site we really want. What will be the cost over-runs? What if I spend all that money and the site doesn't produce? What do I really want in a site when it is finished?
8th) We see the opportunity with something like the LEC2 that incorporates most of what we want and is put together by arguably the top Real Estate Website developer in the country and is already built - overcoming the worries about cost over-runs.
9th) GO FOR IT!
10th) I am very excited about the new design and all the features it offers to my clients like: Mulitiple Search Options, Easy to Organize, Online Tools, etc.
I want to thank Morgan, Jamie and Michael for helping me launch my site and for giving me the tools to create an online destination for my clients . I think you have built an awesome site that will carry me a long ways. I am sure this is not the end of the journey though. As the online world evolves it will be fun to try to keep up and make the necessary adjustments to continue to be successful as an online Realtor. As with other things in life - the journey is half the fun!

That is a really nice site. I hope it works out for you
Looking good Wayne!
Hey Wayne - Kevin Sandridge from Winter Haven, FL here. The site looks great - very clean and well put together. The road to "what you'd like to have" is, unfortunately ever-long! But, it looks like you've made up a good chuck of Internet Super Highway mileage here!
Wayne-
EXACTLY. There are passengers and there are drivers. With your vehicle...you are a driver. Nice work!
Eric
I love that LEC2.
looks nice. There are a few copy issues where the text isnt quite right. Just a heads up.
Still working on it but I am very pleased with the site and the preliminary data suggests that my visitors are staying longer, looking at more pages, and registering more often!
@Dena - anything you see specific - let me know - as I may very well overlook it. Any help along those lines is greatly appreciated.

Wayne this seems to be the story of most everyone who spends time at REW. Your LEC is going to do great. Just letting you know I've joined the club. Chatted with Morgan and I'm getting an LEC2 for Sacramento! (Still keeping my Davis site).
