FALL HOME BUYING IN PALM BEACH GARDENS IS INCREASING

Fall is a smart time to buy a home in Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach or throughout Palm Beach County. And we are seeing more people, both seasonal and year 'round residents, looking at and buying homes. Prices are down more than 20 percent from the high price point in 2005 and sellers are getting anxious.

There is still a lot of homes on the market -- almost 30,000 -- single family homes, town houses and condos throughout Palm Beach County, and almost 2000 of those in Palm Beach Gardens.  Both short sales -- when the sales price of the house is less than the amount the seller owes on the mortgage(s) -- and foreclosures are further eroding home prices beyond the impact from oversupply of inventory.

Many smart buyers are coming to town in October and November to purchase homes ready for the winter season in communities such as Ironhorse Country Club, PGA National, Ibis Country Club, Mirasol, Frenchmans Reserve and BallenIsles.  There are affordable condos on the intracoastal in North Palm Beach and there are many family homes in communities such as Steeplechase that are just waiting for new owners.
