FIND GREAT DEALS IN PALM BEACH GARDENS' IBIS COUNTRY CLUB AS PRICES CONTINUE TO FALL

The number of sales and prices of homes in Palm Beach Gardens area Ibis Country Club has declined in the first eight months of 2009 compared with the same period in 2008, according to statistics from the Regional Multiple Listing Service. 

The number of homes sold in Ibis is down 24 percent in the period January through August 2009 compared with the first eight months of 2008.  Just 48 homes sold in Ibis through August, 2009 while 63 sold in the first eight months of 2008.  This is the lowest number of sales in year as 82 homes sold during the period in 2007, 64 sold in 2006 and 212 sold in the boom year of 2005. 

Prices are also down about 12% - 13% within the community  when comparing dollars per square foot of homes sold in the first eight months of 2009 and those sold through August 2008.

Homes selling at or below $500,000 averaged $156 per square foot in for the first eight months of 2008 and just 137 per square foot for the same period in 2009, a 12 percent decline.

Those homes selling above $500,000 averaged $231 per square foot from January through August  of 2008 and dropped to $202 per square foot in the same period of 2009, a decline of 13 percent.

Today there are more than 170 homes on the market in Ibis, many providing fantastic deals for savvy buyers.  Statistics are indicating that home prices have likely bottomed this year, so those interested in rock bottom prices should start their search now.
