FEWER PALM BEACH GARDENS HOMES FOR SALE AS PRICES STABILIZE

The number of homes for sale in Palm Beach Gardens continues to decline as prices throughout the area stabilize. Buyers are in town making outstanding deals for their homes. 

In early November, 2009 there are just above 1400 homes for sale in Palm Beach Gardens, about 100 fewer than were on the market two months ago, according to statistics developed from the Regional Multiple Listing Service.

About half of those 1400 homes on the market today are priced at $300,000 or less.  More than 800 of the properties are single family homes with the remainder being condos or townhomes.

Home prices in the area are stabilizing as the median price for a single family home seems to have found bottom last February at $228,100.   In September, the median price for a single family home in Palm Beach County was $242,900, according to statistics from the Florida Association of Realtors.

This is a fabuluous opportunity for first time homebuyers and those selling and buying another home because in both instances, subject to income limitations, there are thousands of dollares of tax credits or rebates available from the federal government for those under contract by the end of April 2010 and closing by June 2010.

And, with our snowbirds returning to south Florida during the next few months, we expect more homes to be on the market, so buyers will have a large selection from which to chose their new home.
