Being the new family in a community can be a lonely feeling.  You do not know anyone and with the busy life that most people lead, you may not even see your neighbors outside in their yards.  Most real estate agents do not provide the service of introducing you to your neighbors and you find yourself sitting on a new piece of real estate that you are now calling home, yet it just doesn't feel too much like home.  This situation can happen to anyone of us in any area.  From the crowded areas of Jacksonville to the country areas such as Bryceville,  Macclenny  or Callahan and anywhere else in the country.  If you are the type of person that likes to have friends close by, you may find yourself feeling lonely in your new home.  If you find yourself in this situation, try a few items off of my "Top 10 List Of Ways To Meet Your Neighbors" below and see how you may be able to get to know your neighbors as you get settled in to your home.

Top 10 Things To Avoid When Trying To Meet Your Neighbors

1. Practice your golf swing in your front yard using a different house as a target each day.
2. Invite as many neighbors as possible over to your home for an Amway party.
3. Wear a Speedo to the neighborhood pool.
4. Use your neighbors garbage cans because you have not had a chance to purchase your own.
5. Offer your neighbors children a piece of candy.
6. Put up a clothes line in your front yard to dry your clothes until you have the money to purchase a dryer.
7. Pull the car in to your yard with the radio as loud as it will go.
8. Take your dog for walks allowing him to use the neighbors lawn as a place to relieve himself.
9. After hearing your neighbors house has been robbed, ask them if they know of any good pawn shops in the area.
10. Stand in your front yard with a megaphone announcing to everyone that you need friends.

Top 10 Things To Do In Order To Meet Your Neighbors

1. Throw an Open House party at your home.  Have refreshments and games for adults and children.
2. Invite a couple of neighbors out to dinner and return to your home for dessert.
3. Go to a neighbors home and ask them about restaurants, schools and community events that they may know about.
4. Invite a couple out to a sporting event or to the mall for shopping.
5. You have just moved in and have items that you want to donate to charity.  Visit a neighbor and ask about a local charity that they know of that you can donate to.
6. Strike up a conversation by asking your neighbors if  they know of a good lawn service in the area.
7. Ladies, Host a makeover party at your home and invite all of the ladies in the neighborhood.  Make sure that the makeovers are free.
8. Organize a poker night at your home. (Check your local Laws)
9. Organize a bike riding, jogging or walking group.
10. Strike up any type of conversation and make sure that when you leave, you leave your new neighbor thinking that you are relaxed, easygoing, and someone he/she is going to look forward to running into at a later date.
