Business Network International in Myrtle Beach

During the Winter of 2005 when the Real Estate Industry started to slow in the Myrtle Beach Area, I began to search for new ways to build my business. After all, I had only been in the business for a little over a year, therefore the past client referral weren't exactly pouring in by the truck load. A mentor and friend of mine, Dave Alexander, was involved in a very inspirational group in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. This group was called the Surfside BNI "Business Network International" Chapter. If  you were to visit the Surfside BNI Chapter, you would leave out of the meeting, more motivated than you could ever believe. That chapter is filled with energetic successful business leaders from all over "The Grand Strand. I was hooked, but there was one problem... Dave was the Realtor in the group and each group has exclusiveness. Therefore, in order for me to join, I would have to find a BNI chapter with no Realtor. Good Luck with that. All 7 chapters in the Myrtle Beach Area had a Realtor. So I started my own chapter called the Carolina Forest BNI Chapter. Carolina Forest is where my office is located and it is the fastest growing area within Myrtle Beach.

I made several calls and visited several chapters to put together the first meeting of the BNI Chapter of Carolina Forest and we finally scheduled it for  the End of April 2006. There were 7 of us at the first meeting in the Restaurant of the Holiday in West near the Intracoastal Waterway in Myrtle Beach. Over the following 6 weeks, we slowly grew our group to 10 members and then we came up with a great idea. We were going to host a visitor day and each of members were to invite 10 potential visitors. Three weeks later, we had the visitor's day and believe it or not we had over 35 in attendance. Wow, how energetic the Chapter  became. Out of that meeting we had approximately 10 visitors join and officially the BNI Carolina Forest Chapter had begun. We continued to meet at the Holiday Inn West for a few more weeks, but we quickly outgrew that facility.

As our group grew to 25 members we started meeting at the Staybridge Suites, where we still meet every Wednesday from 7:30-9:00am. Now our group has grown to 32 members and has become a referral power house. We have several well known companies in Myrtle Beach and I can recommend anyone from our group without worrying about the quality of their service. Our group has become family in everything that we do. Each week, we get about 2 visitors to our group to see what all the fuss is about. It is very rarely to find someone that is not impressed with the motivation that is created in that small conference room. If you are in Real Estate and want a powerful referral source that can drive you to success, find a local BNI Chapter. Get involved!
