Suggestions on School Reports feature on website

Does anybody have any software or subscription they can recommend for school reports service on my website where parents could research schools from my website to some degree????

Some sites i-frame school report sites in but there are those of us on the fence about i-framing a site into yours and content theft. I use outbound links to school report sites and on my Cook County site (from the listings), I actually find the proper page for each town the listing is in.

I use http://nces.ed.gov/globallocator/ and http://www.localschooldirectory.com/

Argh!!! Your second link has a nice big homegain dot com link directly above the school info. I don't think I'll be sending any of my clients there

Hmmmm, I'm not seeing a Homegain link on the 2nd resource I gave. However, I am showing Classmates dot com and some other Google ads so although I like the set-up of the 2nd link the first link does not use advertising.

I took the data from your first resource and downloaded all the data and now I let people on our service use it. They just choose the schools they want in their admin panel... looks kinda like this

In the next week or so I am adding a function so that agent can add local school websites in their admin panel, then I can approve them and then they will be available for everyone... so the school info will grow.

Downloading the data is pretty easy, but I am sure that there are some ways I can package this and serve this as a API or framable page or something if real estate agents like this kinda stuff...

Also if you look at your states websites, you can find stuff on standardized test scores. Every state is in a different format - in this case I had it linked directly to the state MEAP scores for that school. (they changed their format, and I am updating this right now) Some state have accessable data (ex:Ohio), some do not (ex: washington)

Just checked and michigan when to downloadable test scores. So I will have to write this in ASAP - this is a big step for them

OK - sorry for replying 3 times in a row, but I just checked and WA has also upgraded to a downloadable data format for test scores, however they ID codes they use do not match up with those in the nces so you would have to map them all by hand.

Is this info taken exactly from the other site? If so, even though it's public knowledge, isn't that considered content theft? I know we can use public knowledge stats on our sites as long as we don't copy the source exactly.

However, I didn't check between your page & the site so if you've reworked the information then I guess it's OK.
