    Default Content and keywords

I recently had REW design a site for me and it should be live today or tomorrow. My questions are about the use of keywords in the content. I feel like overusing keywords can be obnoxious to a reader. I was looking at some high ranking websites and noticed that on the homepage there were 30 - 50 uses of the main keywords. I only have my main keywords 16 and 12 times in my outside tags and anywhere on my site. Is there a general rule that needs to be followed for google ranking. I have not quite finished witing content for my homepage so if anyone has a little input for me on this I would really appreciate. If anyone would like to look at my site it is www.dev30.rewdev.com.

By the way, This forum is a great idea!

    Thank you,

The credit goes to Leif and the guys here at REW. They put it all together for me. I had the pictures and they made the whole thing look great. I think that it really adds credibility to an agent to have a good looking site and they worked hard on it. What do you think about keywords in the content?

Ryan, to answer your question - always write your content for your users, not for search engines - you should give more consideration to what you think your users want to read, and how that content directs the user experience at your site.

That being said - it is important to have instances of your keywords on your page - but let them occur naturally - if you are real estate agent in Alpharetta, that needs to be communicated in your content - so you are probably going to write

As a real estate agent servicing the Alpharetta market, I am fully capable of handling any property transactions you are interested in.
Obviously you see that what I wrote was throw together - but the point is, there are legitimate reasons that your keywords will occur in your content, don't look for inappropriate place to stuff them in - it looks unprofessional and will not help your rankings.

I am glad to read that. Unfortunatley I have a good deal of work to do as far as content goes. BTW, Leif has my site finished if you want check it out at www.ryanwardrealestate.com. I personally think he did an outstanding job and his service was top notch.

No need to have that much ...a few times should be good enought..
Check my site out : http://www.johnhomesonline.com
    for my main Keyword

    1. East bay real Estate : (not that competitive) it's on page 1
    2. Bay Area Rela Estate : (think it's a high search KW) page 1 or 2 (depends on google mood)
    3. California Real Estate ( Would think it's highly competive) page 4 I believe up from page 11 last week

and a lot of other KW it's ranking pretty good. Just read around REW and should find some useful stuff to help you get to the top of the SE..

    Hi John,

I checked out your California website. Looks very good and content rich. Are you doing all the writing, or have you hired someone to do it. Just curious.
