    Default DMOZ submit question

About 4 months ago i made a rookie mistake and hired a company to do directory submissions for me. They submited to dmoz (god knows what catagory) when the site was not ready for it. (No unique content, no personal contact info, broken under construction pages and so on)

Well now after a few months of learning seo and building content on my site i believe it is now ready for a dmoz submission. Here is the problems i face:

    1) The realtor associated with the site url has changed.
    2) I have no idea if they have even reviewd the site yet, so if they get to it now, the description, title and contact info are going to be whack and i could get banned.
    3) Ho do i know when to resubmit so i dont get banned for multiple submissions?

The error was mine in hiring the company (VKI - 1000 calms got me listed in about 10 directories - stay away) for the directory submissions. Now how to dig myself out from this hole?

Be patent, dm*z works very slowly - before you submit to dm*z, go onto there forum, http://www.resource-zone.com/ - read, read and read more - don't bombard the forum, dm*z should really be a natural listing, that an editor picks up!

I have a couple of sites listed, and have never, ever submitted to them ... let nature take its time, and make your site lovable for search engines to find and read.

Never pay to be listed, most people offering this service are either pranksters or editors (if it's an editor and they get your url, it will never be listed).

I hope this helps, and good luck

You can't worry about getting listed on there it'll make you crazy. Submit your site or email the editor and then mark on your calendar to check back in 2-3 months. There is so much other stuff you can spend your time on. It is important to get list and in the right place but you can only hurt yourself by trying to rush them along or resubmitting every week.

I think gmos hates me ...waiting the last 3 years to get my site listed..last submitted was a year ago..

I also believe they let you submit just once a year.

I along with many other local folks I know have tried for over the last year. Hasn't been a new Real Estate site for our location added in that time. Must be a biased editor who already has a listing. In any case, it hasn't effected my ability to grow my site within the SE's.
