    Default What just happened?

For a long time, I was ranked in the top ten on Yahoo.
Then I all but dropped off the map. Only one keyword "St. Louis Homes" found me at #34. A few other words had me ranked at 300+ and other words no longer even recognized me.

I have been going crazy trying to figure out how to fix it. I have been adding content, doing this, doing that.

Then today, I happened to check the source of the graphics on my home page.

On each and everyone of them the SOURCE, not the description had a bunch of latin sounding gobbly gook. Lines and line and lines of it. Entire paragraphs of garbage.

    1. Could this be what Yahoo hates me?

    2. How did all that junk get on there in the first place?

    Hi Barry.

What do you mean by the Latin thing above? That sounds like a big problem, but I'm not sure exactly what you mean. If you could elaborate, maybe I can help.

I wish I had cut and pasted it.

I have seen similar garbage before on website template samples.

Such as...(taken from free website template site)

"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consetetur pscing sed diam
Erat, sed diam voluptua. At vero eos et accusam et justo duo dolores et ea rebum. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consetetur sadi pscing elitr, sed diam..."

There was lines and lines and lines of this stuff. I do not know how it got there. But I question if it was messing with rankings when Yahoo looked at my content. Again, it was all under the SOUCRE not the description of the images. I do not know how my site continued to properly show the images with this garbage attatched.

    Hey Barry.

"Lorem ipsum" is Latin text that web developers / designers use to fill pages they're designing. They do it to avoid wasting time writing actual content for a design that's going to be filled in with content later on.

I looked at the source code of your home page and didn't see anything like that. If nothing else has changed on your site (since you were ranked at the top), it might just be a result of Yahoo updating their algorithm or something. There are a lot of unknowns in search engine visibility. The best we can do is focus on the knowns and hope for the best.

    Good luck.

Even though using "lorem ipsum" often arouses curiosity due to its resemblance to classical Latin, it is not intended to have meaning.

I was pretty sure that it wasnt actual latin and that is was just "filler" with no purpose. I removed it as soon as I noticed it.

But I do not understand how it got there. And why was it attatched to the source url of all places?

    Major weirdness.
