I took a look at the front page and couldn't tell what key term/phrase that page was trying to target. If you haven't already read it here is a great SEO tutorial.

The page size is huge: 227852 bytes.

I did like the photo of the house and clouds.

Thumbs up Re: Would like some contructive criticism.

Good looking site but i have to go with Blackwell on this one... main page is just too much. when I clicked on it I couldn't really tell what it was I was doing there. I had the same problem with my first site design and everyone kept telling me to "simplify" and make it easier for the consumer to navigate.

You have a great site to work with... good luck!

    Gotta ask...

I have a local lender that had the "mrtgman" on his license plate. He was often asked "who's Mr. TG man?". He didn't renew....

    Ever get that?

Besides the fact that I think you border on the selling RE w/o an license issue...I would never send business to an loan officer that advertised Fsbo's and was working against me. There are currently investigations into many loan companies for advertising homes when they aren't licensed to do so. Personally I think small infractions like this will help open the door to banks in real estate. IMO loan officers should do loans and leave the real estate to the real estate agents.

Don't take this as an attack it's just there are many loan officers that have gone as far as to tell people "you don't need a Realtor(R) we'll help you sell it". You may not take it to that extreme, but there are many that do.

A Loan officer that I previously worked with lost $100k in business this year because I found out he was helping friends and family sell FSBO. I dropped him and my current LO made well in excess of $100k do to my referrals. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

What is the objective of a mortgage website? Applications! IMHO your home page is overdone and does not have enough emphasis on attracting applications.

I feel that the best way to make the best first impression with your homepage is to let your audience feel that you understand their needs immediately.
Determine what your most common visitors needs are and focus the homepage on those needs.
All that front page info is great - but by no means worthy of homepage - save it for inner content.

I think all of the comments in the previous posts are right on... Too much content on the front page, a little too busy and not enough focus. You should try to draw focus to all of your lead generating links, like the contact me and mortgage loan application. If it's hard for someone to find those, then you are missing out on leads. Also you may want to put a Pre-Qual part on there, that is less threatening than a loan application, so people may be more apt to fill it out.
