If that realtor has all the great credentials and a reputation for making the process of buying and owning a house easy, would you not pay them a top prize as well. A botched house deal brought on by a substandard realtor and a Do-it-yourself dealing is more expensive when you need to sue or do extensive house repairs because you have been duped by the seller.
