    Ryan;

    If you incorporate a second blog (into your main website domain), it creates an EASY way to add content to your site daily....you can also add posts about the different areas, subdivisions, builders and others you are working with. Heckuva way to get some long tails...(grin)

    And (IMHO) having an REW blog is MANDATORY because a) It's hella easy to use b) it has REW authority behind the links c) you can geo target the posts very readily and d) It gives you yet another place to attract inbound links to...

    I can make a good case for a 3rd site and blog if you are a broker as well. (recruiting)...

    I know all fo this seems like a ton of work, but it DOES pay off.

    Best;

    And, taking what Eric has said a step further, feed it into your REW site is a must for changing content.

    How do I do that? I will probably post 3-5 times a week. Joe, I like your site. It's a little off in IE7 though. And what's a digg?

    So, if what I'm hearing is correct...it really doesn't make much sense to have the REW blog skinned to my site as it will lose the authority of being backed by the REW Forum?

    Thanks. Any credit for good things in my site goes to REW and pcdoc (REW moderator & 1stpageseo.com). Pcdoc has been instrumental in implementing the rss feeds and other things. If it looks good in my site then it's pcdoc and REW, and if it looks screwy, it's me!

    I'm aware of the IE7 problem as it has been discussed in the forum. I am waiting until REW develops an expedient fix, then I'll pay to have the fix implemented on my site.

    On another note, I am incredibly thrilled with the REW blog. There are many things I like about it, but my favorite is the option to add 'Related Links.' On every blog entry so far, I've plugged different pages in my website for additional info.

    I think what you are referring to is the "REW Authority" that has been mentioned. This is in reference to the fact that REW has been on the web for a very long time, has good rankings, and carries a certain amount of "authority" when referring out links, ect.

    What it is referring to is maintaining the blog at REW as a sub-domain if you will of REW's, then have it pointing to their real estate site. The fact that it is on REW's site and having internal links to your site would carry more weight then having the blog on your site and pointing internally. Of course placing it directly on your site, gives your site the often added new and fresh content. This is where some folks are debating. Keep the blog they have attached to their site, transfer it over to the new REW blog, keep up two blogs, or three if they have one with WP, ect.

    About skinning it to your site, would be a personal preference. Personally, I will keep it with a different look so it has an appearance maybe of being a different authority, backing up my personal website.

    I hope I was close to being on track with your question, if not I apologize.

    Actually you are not quite correct:

    I DOES make sense to have a blog on your site AND it DOES make sense to have a blog on REW.

    Here is why:

    Having a blog on your own site allows you to quickly and easily publish content that your users (If you write compelling content) will come back to read often, thus increasing your retention of visitors. There is also another positive side effect to writing a great blog, and that is, those people who come across it via the web, or hear about at via word of mouth or other viral avenues are likely to link to it (Again more quality means more links) and what does more links mean? More authority and rankings for YOUR site and so that is why you want blogs on your site.

    Why do you want a blog on REW as well?

    We have already built the authority that you as webmasters are trying to build with your blogging. So at REW you have the ability to write your posts and have them rank right away, those rankings drive traffic to your site, and once again, more rankings = more deals. SE positive side effect is the same as above, if you write a great blog at REW, people will link to that blog AND your site (Because you are undoubtedly going to talk about your site and your business quite a lot in your REW blog) so you get more links, more pagerank and authority - and before you know it, you have 2 great lead generating avenues on the web which are bringing you business.
