    Question Thoughts on this idea?

"G" likes new fresh content, that goes with out saying.

My thought is this: Would writing a new paragraph and placing it on your home page every so often, and then moving the old paragraph to an internal relevant page ---- Make "G" happy , or piss him off for changing your home page content so often.

I was thinking about making (say the 2nd or 3rd paragraph) my "ever changing" paragraph. Writing new content and then replacing it every so often with newer content, and placing the last paragraph some where relevant on an internal page.

Sort of a tortoise RSS feed.

i just wonder could you make a program that would change the front page once a week. You could have four different versions.

The new trend is to just build your whole site around a blog. If you think about it, WordPress is flexible enough to be used as a content management system. You can have permanent links to pages with searches, or community specific posts, but everything else is just a bunch of blog posts.

I've seen other realtors do it, and I think it's a great idea. People only care about searches and community info on the website...everything else logically belongs on a blog.

I'll answer with a question. Do you think that G is pissed by cnn.com website?

This behavior as quoted is typical for blogs, so google shouldn't be pissed. But try to think about that if you are a blogger, or you are a Memphis realtor?

Actually I am a blogger, or at least I try to be. I am also a REALTOR, obviously. I have a blog for blogging with blogging type stuff.

What I was wanting to do, was not blog (yes I see the similarities) but to add good, relevant, fresh content to my website---which this would do on a gradual basis. I think it is safe to assume that this is a good thing. There is blogging type information I will continue to add to my Blog, and then there is website type information, which is what the question is based around.

The foundation of the question is:

Would adding some of the website content in this manner help? or just write it and make a new back end page all the time?

Trying to "freshen" up the home page with out a total overhaul all the time.

I do appreciate all your imputs

I'm not sure the SE's would like a total overhaul all the time? They also cache' pages, so would they catch on to the fact that you are using the same pages over and over again?

PCdoc or someone would have to give you a better response on that one.

It's not gonna matter at all. If it improves the visitors experience then do it (maybe get more to check in more often for valuable insights?), if it doesn't improve the visit... skip it.

Writing the code for it would be a cinch.. but mostly a waste of time IMO.

It all depends upon site classification. Sometimes it is good and sometime with no effect but there will not be any harm in doing otherwise. Like for newspaper classification google expect they change everyday, same for stock trading, and some other online business. If the classification is that way then it is possible you will get fresh content benefit.

I have been thinking the same thing about the change of content every day on my index page. My solution was that I added a section to the page that has current interest rates and asked one of our mortgage people to email me the mortgage rates for VA, FHA, Conventional, and ARM daily. I can then change them as they section. Below that I added a place that says Recent Columbus Ga and Phenix City news and I just put about 3 lines of something interesting in todays news. That way my content can change daily with only about 10 minutes of my time.
Like you I thought about doing a news page and transferring the portion I am removing to the news page.
