Default How do you get Yahoo to spider your site?

For a fairly new site that has been around for 5 months and been indexed/spidered once by Yahoo and MSN, and you add new seo-friendly pages, how do you get Yahoo to re-spider it? There are a few links to the site, but not that many. Is there any way to speed up the process or is there anything that I can do?

First you might check out search submit express. Any url you ad here is updated every 48hrs, but you are still paying on a ppc basis at 50cents, but content is constantly refreshed.

Are you currently with any PPC ad services?

IMO, skip the submit express. Yahoo will find/spider/update just like the others... from links to your page. Get more, and stronger links to your site and you'll be all set.

I agree with VRI..If you really want to get a specific page indexed quicker - then do some link exchanges, but in your exchanges have the other person linking to that page directly (ie: have them link to www.yourdomain.com/sub-page1.html)..Another way, which may take a little longer, would be to create a site-map..Your site should always have a site-map and should be around from day 1...In my experience site maps have helped get ALL of my pages indexed much quicker...Hope this helps

Some believe that inclusion in the yahoo paid directory causes more frequent spidering, I cannot confirm this, or deny it as I have not thoroughly tested, but might be worth looking into to.

yahoo paid directory inclusion is priceless in my opinion, esp. when building a site, the directory link alone is worth the $300.00, aside from other benefits (confirmed or unconfirmed)

So what are some of the benifits to submitting my site for inclusion into the Yahoo directory? I figure, why not submit to all the different Yahoo directories that are free and that would generate the same type of benifit.

Yahoo doesn't ever seem to leave me alone in terms of spidering. When I look at my numbers, Yahoo's hits are 11,000 and google's are 1,300 for the month. It's always been this way for as long as I can remember. Right now for my main keyword I'm #4 in yahoo and for google I'm #3. But yahoo is very fickle, they really just started showing me again. For a long time, I was down with them, where google has seemed to stay somewhat consistent.

Who knows why? Not me. I have a sitemap but I'm bad about updating it. It's really too long anyway. I do google sitemaps, I paid the $300 for the directory listing. I exchange links often. I write and submit articles for one way links often and I try to update my website content a few times week. I'm pretty consistent with these things so it doesn't really make sense to me why they love me and then hate me -- but they always spider me. Right now they love me and it does make a difference in leads.

I would recommend spending the $300. Try to sneak your main keyword into the anchor text when you submit. It worked for me. I don't see this too often. Maybe there was a new guy on that day. :-)

Ditto. I spent the money about 2 months ago, and I am no where to be found in Yahoo. I spent the money thinking it would help my chances to rank higher and quicker. Neither has happened!
