    Default Alternatives to Google Analytics?

    Hey guys -

    I've read on a few forums that Analytics is a poorly designed program, and there are other, better alternatives. If you're not using analytics, what are you using & why? Did you pay for it, and how much?

    Thanks!

    Eric;

    Just my opinion, but G! analytics is a pretty good way to go. I use it for some of the sites that I do. Why? #1 It has 90% of what I want and is free. (always nice). I use it for lots of sites and find it works really well...

    My main real estate site I track with Urchin (Note: They are now under the Google tent.) It came as part of the hosting package that I negotiated BEFORE G! Analytics was a twinkle in anyone's eye at the G!plex.... I continue to use it MAINLY to keep continuity with the statistics that I already track--ie. Pageviews , referrals, and so forth.

    I have played around with many others (Clicktracks, Webtrends, etc...). None of them was worth the investment GIVEN that I already had 90% of what I wanted...Some do have cool interfaces, but a cool interface does not necessarily a wise investment make (grin)...

    Best;

    Eric

    Well.... I'm "old school" and feel that they probably have enough data already. I've been quite happy with downloading and analyzing the raw log files myself... with the help of couple of programs.
