Default xoompad threatens legal action against REW

Just got off the phone with Vipin Signh SP? Of Xoompad, and he figures that because he has appologized for his staff spamming our forums, I should remove my blog post reporting this. My blog post is located at http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...arey/269/show/

So I get this message appologizing for this "accident" and so I go digging. Guess what, they are spamming forums all over the place! This was not a momentary lapse in judgement, it is spam plain and simple. So I call this guy, and he starts trying to quote something about co-opetition? Excuse me? So I should allow you to break my forum rules and promote your products because you think its co-operative competition?

Then he changes his tune, oh btw we weren't promoting, we were asking for reviews of our website.

Really? You weren't promoting? Here is the post (THE VERY SAME POST) all of your staff and affiliates are spamming.

Introducing XoomPad, a revolutionary IDX solution for real estate agents and buyers. Uses Google Earth to show buyers homes around their area of interest.

So I ask you members, is this asking for a review of their website or self promotion - and if more than one user account was created and this post was made in many different forums clogging up our community and causing deletion and banning work for our moderaters is this not spam? Hmmmm

Anyone who wants to support this blog or agrees with me, feel free to link to the post or blog about it yourself.

He wants it removed because REW is an authority site and it shows as a top 5 backlink which isn't good for him. Guess thats the risk you take for spamming an authoritative site.

Oh believe me, I know why he wants it removed. However - I see no reason to remove a post reporting a spammer. Because he said sorry in a voicemail, only to later be exceptionally rude and threatening on the phone?

If he was truly sorry, he would have his staff go out an delete all of the spam they have posted on mine and other peoples websites, craigslist etc - the only reason he even tried his half hearted apology is because he got busted and called on it. When he threatened legal action my answer was a resounding GO AHEAD! I hardly think I can be sued for reporting an incident factually. If I can be sued for telling the truth, there is something wrong with the American courts system.

Curious about Xoompad, I visited their homepage. When I clicked on their mapping demo http xoompad dot com/kw/ what do I find but a Keller Williams site ... ! ?? !

Knowing my company doesn't (typically) allow 3rd party vendors to use the KW logo .... I've notified Austin TX about the page and await further info as to whether they're committing trademark infringement. Time will tell .... they might be the ones getting their a**es sued ....

I've written a supporting blog about a fictional comical Xoompad lawyer's argument. I hope you will like it. P.S. Good luck with the birth buddy.

I think encouraging members of REW to write blogs about the actions of Xoompad's CEO is not very professional. This forum is supposed to be made up professionals in the real estate industry and just because one company is not acting in a professional sense by threatening to sue over their blatant actions doesn't mean that REW Members should stoop to their level.

We all come to this forum because of the vast knowledge of the members and their professionalism, lets keep it that way.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Tony,
I just wanted to let you know, I question Morgan and probably criticize him as much as anyone else around here (he will testify to that one) and my blog was written as my opinion and not because he asked for one. I fight spammers every day in my local forum. To be honest with you as we exchange ideas in this forum, we also create friendships and there is nothing wrong in supporting a friend against meaningless attacks. Nobody writes anything here unless they think it is worthy of writing. I think my blog piece was articulate, well written and to the point. If this forum does not create friendships, it would be as a corporate committee meetings. P.S. I liked the realtor article about professionalism in your signature.
