    Hey, Morgan,

Thanks for the offer. Yes, I know you have a "couple" of sites with great position, like, oh, say, being #1 in Google for the agent's city and the words real estate. Of course, along with the SEO, you also have off-site optimization going, SEM.

That's exactly what I was doing, reverse engineering so any agent could see what those top sites in their area are doing. It's not "secret" but for someone who doesn't have the knowledge, it's certainly an unknown. You've shared so much info in this forum that anyone who puts it together can get good position--takes work though. It ain't overnight (even for the SEO-expert! ) but you know there are a few shortcuts. Our last site was indexed in Google in 4 days and had PR2 in five weeks... but frankly we're still wondering if it was from our work or a fluke!

Those two women who said "absolutely not" to my request to use their site as an example didn't realize their site had seasoning on their side (domain name was 7 years old and many backlinks) and the worst that would have happened is they would have had more traffic. Since I wanted to have lots of screen-shot illustrations and the agents I contacted said "no", I created a site just for the book, but I may take you up on that offer when I do the next revision.

Congrats to you and your wife on your baby girl and her beautiful name! I finally have my first grandkids, a little girl in November and a little boy in Januuary, so I have fresh reminders right now of what a wonderful time this is. Every day will be something new and more fun, especiallly as all three of you start getting more sleep!

    About Blogs and Dup Content:

I meant to mention this to Morgan, but he did blogalytics for me and I wrote an article on Oakland Investment Poperty. Being new to article writing, (and SEO) I posted it in my REW blog first, then I Dugg it, then posted it on Activerain. Like two days later it was #1-3 in google for "Oakland Investment Property. First two were active rain, REW blog #3, all the SAME article.

Ryan posted telling me about the dup content issue and that was the first time I even thought about it!

    Today http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...tment+property it's number 1 and 2.

BUT only one from Active Rain and another that I didnt even submit to(does that mean it was picked up by anoter site?) The REW one isnt there for some reason?

Anyway, Im not sure what it all means but it was interesting.

So your duplicate content ranks low on the first page for a phrase that is barely ever searched for. What good is that going to do? If you could rank duplicate content for a competitive search term, then I may be a little impressed... but too much of it is not going to help you in the long run.

I think you missed the point of the thread. It wasn't that the phrase is searched for, or even one that is competitive, it is that Google apparently was ok with displaying both pages on the first page. The point of the thread was to stimulate discussion on Google's apparent acceptance of duplicate content. That's all. No one was trying to impress anyone.

BTW, disco went out in the 70's, early 80's. Just thought I'd let you know that.
