Default Strong Movement in Google, Nothing in Yahoo

I started my SEO journey in November & the techniques I've picked up from this board have really sent me on my way w/ Google. I'm seeing great movement for some less competitive terms for www.onesourcemetro.com & I'm starting to gain ground on the big terms for www.ericbramlett.com. However...I'm seeing nothing in Yahoo!

I've focused on directory submissions, article writing, & link swapping. I've gotten a lot of really good IBL's from my articles. I've optimized my metas & my content.

So...Google's starting to warm up to me, & Yahoo's giving me the cold shoulder. Everything I've read indicates that I should get love the other way around.

    Am I missing anything obvious?

No Yahoo Love!!!! I guess it could be worse... I still don't understand, though - I know there are plenty of prospects that use Y as their primary search engine.

I have the exact opposite...we started around the November/December and all of our traffic is coming from Yahoo and MSN and none from Google.

    Eric,

Your in Luck! The large majority of traffic comes for Google. So if your not getting a lot of love, at least its from the ugly sister anyways.

Yahoo has been very inconsistent over the last year - with MSN and Google there is a clear strategy (Or several potential strategies) that will encourage movement, but for yahoo, they have just been all over the map.

A perfect example of this: An aquaintance of mine threw up this page as a placeholder for a future condos site http://www.scottsdalearizonacondominiums.com - It's a piece of garbage, spammy text, no legitimate links and certainly none in volume, no directories etc and its on the first page for scottsdale condos - It is a very frustrating proposition especially for SEO's as without clear direction, we cannot afford to play around with our sites that rank highly in Google / MSN just to hope to fluke on yah00 - If anyone knows more than I on this, I would love to hear some (Data driven) strategy.

My sites that have good Yahoo ranking still don't pull much traffic from it. In fact, when I'm searching myself Yahoo has given me such awful results that I don't even use it anymore. Of course, I normally use Google but I also use MSN. The last time I tried searching in Yahoo the results were laughable & I said, "That's it, never again!"
Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.

I think whatever works for google ranking kills you in yahoo. I used to rank well in yahoo and nothing on google. Now I rank well in google and nowhere in yahoo even after joining the directory. I'd much rather rank with google!
