I seem to be having an issue. Yesteray my site was on page 30 with the just the .com of my home page (no /index.html) today however I am on age 36 with the /index.html version of my home page.
And the .com of my home page is no where to be found.
I did have a propblem last week that I thought I resolved. I had links to my home page linking to the /index.html instead of just to the .com so I was getting a duplicate content problem, but I since fixed those links.
Its been suggested before that I may need to do a 301 redirect for some of the pages that I had mistakingly renamed afteer they where indexed. Do I need to do a 301 redirect for my index page to point it towards just the .com version of my home page? If so can someone please paste the script I would need. I am not suer I am finding exactly what I need online.
Thanks in advance for any help.

It does take time for Google to recrawl and drop pages from the index, can take several months to drop a previously cached page.
