Want an opinion from the realtors

I just launched a site that will basically be a forum for buyers and sellers. There's a place to list home for sale\rent, but that's not the primary purpose. The main idea is that it will be a forum for people to learn about buying or selling a house, the costs, involved, etc. As well as give them a place to "Rate your realtor". Do you think this is a good idea? Would you mind looking at it and giving me your opinion?

It's pretty hard to rate or critique a forum. The hard part is getting people to actually join up and post in it.

I'll tell you why I'd have no interest. I am in an area southwest of Chicago. Unless you have a huge member group which includes buyers and sellers in my area I don't have time answering questions to buyers & sellers outside of my area. Plus, different states have different rules.

Why am I here? Because this forum offers me something - seo knowledge specifically for my industry. I've joined other similar forums but this one has been the best (less spam, good questions, informative answers). I will answer a buyer or seller question just to contribute to this forum since I've received so much from it.

It's difficult to build up a popular forum like this. Best of luck!

thanks judyo for your reply. What about the home page? did you like the layout or is it too bland? What do you think of having a place for buyers to rate and refer there realtors?

I know it will take a while to build membership nationally, but that's the goal. I'm hoping that realtors who have a high load of new customers will refer them to the forum for any questions\answers regarding the process. (again, a lofty goal).

Design wise, I think you can make it look better. Sure, the functionalities that you need are there, but you can spice things up you know. It's like having a house but with nothing in it.

Why would I want to refer my clients to a forum with other agents?

I also don't like review sites where anyone can anonymously post BS reviews. Hope you have a good attorney who is experienced in defending against libel suits. You will need one - plus a big bankroll to pay them.
