    Default Analytics Question

When I originally set up my analytics account, I put the script on the index page & nowhere else. I went through the instructions again, and it says to put the script on any page that I would like to measure. I've started building neighborhood pages, and they're ranking. So, according to analytics instructions, I should install the script on every page I want to measure - which is fairly easy by including it on the "footer.php" file. So...is this the right thing to do or is this going to screw up the way analytics reads the data & clicks?

    Thanks!

Eric .... As long as the analytics js code (in your footer) appears on each of your pages, you're set.

If it's only been resident on your home page, your stats have been greatly understated, not only in (obviously) PV's, but also sessions (visits).

Cool! I guess my conversion isn't as good as I thought, but at least my traffic's higher than what I've read!

Another question for you...I know that I can measure conversion by tracking landing pages, but is there any way to track form submission as conversion?

From my understanding of analytics, I can track conversion based on whether or not a visitor lands on a specific page. I have contact forms on every page of my sites & I would like to track how many visitors convert into a form submission. Is this possible?

Yes you can track form submission by tracking the page that the visitor lands on after they've finished submission.. ie thank you page.

    Eric,
For what it's worth, I put the code on every page of my site (all 400+ pages).

Perfect - I didn't even think of the "thank you" page. That will definitely work.

WOW - when I added analytics to every page, rather than just the home page, my traffic was almost double what I thought, and my views are almost triple!
