    Default Nanaimo Shaw Cable Telemarketers Rude as hell

    So my internet provider calls me today with "We are just calling to make sure you are happy with your service" - I say yes thank you. Then they say "Would you like to upgrade to extreme for free for a month?" I say why would I want to upgrade I just said I was happy, did you call to see if I was happy or try to sell me something?

    They say well what about Satellite, are you on satellite, would you like to switch? I am like WTF! Then she starts asking me why wouldn't I want to try a free month its FREE! OMG I JUST SAID NO LIKE THREE FREAKIN TIMES DAMNIT!

    I am going to be calling shaw and telling me if they EVER phone me again and try to sell me something I will be cancelling over $1000 of services (I use them for my company and have several SOHO accounts.

    What is with people, I am really disappointed - just needed to vent, anyone else hate shaw?

    lol now that is funny. i am real bad when people call to sell me something. My fav is to set the phone down and try to listen how long they stay there. they arnt suppose to hang up.

    Ya man, i hate shaw too but what other option do i have? You should phone them and ask them if they are happy with their page rank Maybe they would like "exteme pr?"

    Well, I cant say I hate shaw, cuz they treat me and my Boyfriend really well. But i can understand how that can be freakin annoying, I hate cold calls. (My man is a Tech support worker there, not a sales man :P)

    After hearing my family deal with Shaw, Telus, and my dealing with Rogers, I still think Shaw is the best out of the list, my family has had the least amount of issues with them, although my issues with rogers did end up with me getting over $500 in credit to my account. Anyhoo, all the big corps are hard to deal with..you just need to know the right way to handle em all...

    Oh and chances are your cold caller might not have been from Nanaimo.....Possibly from calgary, because they all work across the country. Nanaimo being the largest call center mostly only recieves calls in for Cust Support and Tech Support from BC, Alb, Sask, and maybe some more provinces..I think their Cold callers are elsewhere from what I remember being told. But i may be wrong.

    I hate telemarketers period. There is nothing worse then getting excited because the phone is ringing and having it be some moron offering you long distance services.. or something similar.

    I just hand the phone to my 6 year old and let him play the who, what, why, where, how game....

    I like trying to make conversation with them - I try not to be too rude since they are just doing their job. I doubt most telemarketers enjoy doing what they do, they probably hate it just as much as we do.

    The funnest thing to do is to ask them their home phone number and information. If they refuse to give it out, ask them how they think you feel, and hang up

    I am not much of a fan of shaw cable, although it is a lot better then the Telus DSL I have at the moment. Shaw was billing me for a "box rental" when I canceled there service, I offered to bring them the box back but instead they preferred to keep charging me ($50/month). Eventually I decided that I wasn't going to pay the charges, and sure enough the mail stopped coming to the mail box and I haven't had any contact with them since, although I am sure they will make a big deal out of it if I ever sign up for any Shaw services again

    That could be hurting your credit. I'd check it out man.. having bad credit sucks. Really sucks. I'm slowly beginning to improve mine.. but it's taking forever.
