I remember being a kid and sitting next to an adult and trying not to think anything bad because I wasn't sure if they could read my mind? Guilty conscience I guess ....

Which made me think about google .. I often go to google and search for Bellingham Real Estate to see where my sites are ...... I usually click on my site (because it might help) but then I am afraid to unclick (close the window) of the site with out viewing multiple pages and spending time on each page.

I am not sure if google tracks the number of pages viewed ... entry page, exit page, number of clicks, time on page, but if I was google I sure would track that info and use it help the ranks of a site?

Am I being paranoid? Does click through matter? Am I insane? Should I keep on being so darn goofy?

I do the same thing - don't worry. I also cut and paste competitors addresses instead of clicking them. I do the same for Adwords, because It's The Right Thing To Do [tm] - however I know my competitors click on mine...

hahah lmao I thought I was the only weirdo that did this! I do the EXACT same thing...click on my site, let it sit for a minute click on a couple other pages. Im thinking this makes absolutely no diffirence but im to weird no to!

Once you click and are on a site. Google does not know what you are doing there. Your activity on the site does not go through Google. Only that site's logs know what pages you look at and for how long. Google might know that you clicked another SE results link and how long it was from one Google link click to the next, but it really doesn't care, and the overhead of tracking every link clicked by every consumer is probably way too much for it to deal with. It does track AdWords clicks more closely, because multiple clicks to the same site from the same IP address in a very short period could be click fraud.

That is assuming you don't have the Google toolbar instealled - With a toolbar or Google Desktop the "could" track whatever they want. However I am with Ron on this one, I don't think they track user behavior for use in rankings calculation. I don't know for sure, nor does anyone other than Google.
